 Tā Mātou Pā-Harakeke!

Our School of Generational Education.

Where gaps are filled, cultural practice is shared

and life skills are imparted.

We deliver our programmes through two 'maihi', are the front facing barge boards or welcoming arms of our 'Te Whare Tapa Whā'!

Our two 'MAIHI' are;

MAIHI TUATAHI: Whakawhanake | Development, and

MAIHI TUARUA: Pa-Harakeke | Multigenerational Education

Ngā  Pou Tuarima. The 5 pou of Te Whare Tapa Whā represent the five personal takiwā( areas) that all rangatahi will be encouraged to identify, nurture, development, care for and grow.

Te Tihi-o-Manono | The Citadel. Is the name of our Poutama that has been designed to provide a visual guide for our rangatahi to use to guide their commitment, work ethic, focus and pursuit to achieve their respective goals.

TAIOHI TŪ KĀHĀ! TAIOHI Ē TŪ!

MAIHI TUARUA

Pā Harakeke | Multigenerational Education

Mana Atua: Papatuanuku (Earth Mother).

Ira Atua: Te Hineahuone (The First Woman)

Te Kete: Te-Kete-Tuatea (Basket of Light)

Chosen and aligned to govern and oversee 'Maihi Tuatahi' in acknowledgement of our Earth Mother's taonga (gift) or aroha (love) through the bounty and sustenance her soils provide.

It has been said that our Kaumatua encouraged us as tamariki to take a close look and run our fingers over our skin, we will see and feel that it is not smooth or flat. So too are the hills, mountains, and valleys of Papatuanuku, our earth mother. All life depends upon Papatūānuku for their wellbeing. People have the option of caring for her to maintain their own health or abandoning her to concentrate on their own short term needs. Ultimately an unhealthy Papatūānuku is going to lead to unhealthy people.

Our tamariki will be encouraged through ako (learning), waiata (song), and tikanga (traditional practice), their personal connection to Papatuanuku, and the absolute importance they must place on the protection of the gifts she affords us all if we are to achieve the our goals while maintain good physical, mental and social health.
